Summative ELPAC
The Summative ELPAC annually measures how well English learner (EL) students are progressing with English language proficiency development in the four domains of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. How the Summative ELPAC Works
Who takes these tests?
Students who are classified as EL students will take the Summative ELPAC every year until they are reclassified as proficient in English. There is no parent opt out or medical exemption for this assessment.
What is the test format?
The Summative ELPAC is computer-based; however, the Writing domain for kindergarten through grade two is paper–pencil.
When is the testing window?

Which standards are tested?
The Summative ELPAC tests the 2012 California English Language Development Standards.
What is the estimated testing time?
