Ensuring Teacher Access to Assessment Results in CERS
CERS offers LEA staff early access to student results from the latest CAASPP and ELPAC summative assessments, as well as the interim assessments. Ensuring teacher access to assessment results in CERS requires the following two actions on the part of the LEA test coordinator:
- Confirm teachers have a role in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) that allows access to student results in CERS.
- Upload student groups into CERS. This step is necessary for teachers to access results in CERS. For information on the manual upload process, watch the Creating Student Groups in CERS video. For information on the automated process, visit the CERS Student Information System Vendor Integration web page.
If you have any questions about creating TOMS accounts for teachers in your LEA or uploading student groups into CERS, please contact your LEA’s designated Success Agent. LEA Success Agent information is in the link at the conclusion of this email.
Updated CERS User Guide and CERS Data Dictionary
The CERS User Guide and CERS Data Dictionary have been updated to include information related to the CAST and ELPAC Interim Assessments, which were made available to LEAs for administration in October 2023. The user guide provides detailed instructions for using system features to access information about student performance on state summative and interim assessments.
The data dictionary defines the data elements for exportable reports in CERS. In addition, the data dictionary can be used to determine which CERS reports contain specific elements and what values to expect in relation to the data element. Links to both resources can be found on the CERS Resources website.
For general questions about CERS, your LEA’s designated Success Agent is available. Designated LEA Success Agent contact information can be located on the California Outreach web page.
