SIS-CERS Vendor Integration
Find information about integrating the local educational agency's (LEA's) student information system (SIS) to California Educator Reporting System (CERS). This integration allows for student roster information to be sent from the SIS to CERS to create student groups automatically.
Users at an LEA whose SIS vendor has not set up this integration must manually upload student rosters into CERS by following the instruction on the Manage Student Groups page of the CERS User Guide.
Note that, if the SIS–CERS integration is set up, the manual group creation feature in CERS is still available to users if additional custom groups are needed.
Verify SIS–CERS Integration
To confirm whether the SIS vendor is able to send data to CERS and for complete information and instructions, contact the SIS vendor directly.
SIS Vendor Credentialing Resources
Setting up a connection between your local SIS vendor and CERS involves using credentials generated in TOMS. These are the same credentials for SIS vendors to access electronic SSRs. Use the following resources to access or generate credentials in TOMS.
Note that if you have an existing connection for SSRs, regenerating the credentials in TOMS will break the existing connection and you will have to re-enter the credentials into your SIS.
Arrange SIS–CERS Integration
SIS vendors are responsible for setting up the SIS–CERS integration using the Application Programming Interface (API) Specifications, which provides all the necessary information to prepare the LEA's program for integration, to the SIS vendor to facilitate integration.
The LEA should contact its credentialed SIS vendor directly to work out the details of importing and sharing this data. An SIS vendor can also initiate the integration for the LEA by accessing the API Specifications document.
