Summative ELPAC: Return K–2 Writing Answer Books

Dear LEA ELPAC Coordinator:

LEAs should return completed Summative ELPAC K–2 Writing Answer Books at least twice a month in the provided cartons (white boxes). The sooner LEAs return K–2 Writing Answer Books, the sooner ETS is able to complete the quality-control process to release Student Score Reports (SSRs), as a minimum number of returned Writing Answer Books are needed to start the quality-control process for scoring and reporting, as well as the data analysis of field test items. Note that if an LEA has a small number of students, the LEA may wait to return Answer Books until accumulating a full box or until the LEA has completed testing. Note that approximately 150 answer books fit into one white carton. To request additional cartons (white boxes) or Group Identification Sheets (GISs), complete the Carton and GIS Request Form.

The next available pick-up date to request a pickup of completed answer books is March 21, 2025. All Answer Books must be scheduled for pick up by June 13, 2025, to be scored by ETS. Please follow the return instructions included with your LEA coordinator kit.

When returning Summative ELPAC K–2 Writing Answer Books, LEAs have the option to download and complete the ELPAC School Group List to serve as a reference for both the LEA and ETS as to what is being returned in each shipment. It is recommended that LEAs keep a copy of this document for their records to track the test materials being returned to ETS.

The Materials Tracking Lookup Tool can be used to track incoming pre-identification labels and items ordered, such as additional cartons (white boxes), GISs, and Special Paper forms.
