CAASPP and ELPAC: Systems Resume

Dear LEA CAASPP Coordinator or LEA ELPAC Coordinator:
CAASPP and ELPAC systems have resumed operation after being updated to support 2024–25 testing. The following updates have been made:
CAASPP and ELPAC Interim Assessments
The 2024–25 Smarter Balanced, California Science Test (CAST), and ELPAC interim assessments are now available in the Interim Assessment Viewing System and the test delivery system (TDS). In addition to the current ELPAC interim assessments, 28 additional ELPAC interim assessments will be released on September 17, 2024.
Items that require hand scoring can be scored through the Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS), and results from the interim assessments can be accessed through the California Educator Reporting System (CERS). The following interim assessment materials can be accessed by selecting the [Resources] tab in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS):
- Hand Scoring Training Guides and Exemplars
- Directions for Administration
- Test Content and Answer Keys
For an overview of all available interim assessments, refer to the new CAASPP and ELPAC Interim Assessment Lookup Tool. This tool offers options to filter by subject, grade level, and hand scoring requirement.
TOMS
The Security and Test Administration Incident Reporting System (STAIRS) for 2024–25 was made available in July.
Additionally, LEA coordinators can now assign the Student Score Report (SSR) language preferences by selecting the [Reporting] tab in TOMS.
- Arabic is a newly available SSR language option for Initial ELPAC and Initial Alternate ELPAC in 2024–25.
