September 2026: Systems Resume

Dear LEA CAASPP Coordinator or LEA ELPAC Coordinator:

CAASPP and ELPAC systems have resumed operation after being updated to support the 2026–27 test administration. The following updates have been made.

CAASPP

The secure Directions for Administration (DFAs) for the California Alternate Assessment (CAA) for Science are now available in the Test Operations Management System. The three CAA for Science embedded performance tasks (PTs) are now available in the secure Test Delivery System. Administration of an embedded PT should occur shortly after instruction of related science content.

The California Spanish Assessment practice tests have been refreshed:

• Grades three through eight
  • Two new speaking constructed-response items (practice tests only; the speaking domain is not available on the operational assessment)
  • One new full-write item
• High school
  • Four new speaking constructed-response items
  • One new full-write item

Updated scoring guides are available on the Practice and Training Test Resources web page.

ELPAC

The ELPAC practice tests have been refreshed with new items. Updated DFAs and scoring guides will be available on the Practice and Training Test Resources web page.
