Two Ways to Learn About CERS—Live Training and On-Demand Microlearning Videos
Email Update, September 19, 2024
Dear California Educators:
The California Educator Reporting System (CERS) offers California public school educators early access to CAASPP and ELPAC summative assessment results as well as detailed interim assessment data. The California Department of Education is now offering two free ways for educators to get familiar with the features and functions of CERS.
Live CERS Trainings
The virtual trainings offer live, facilitated training and dedicated time to practice using various features of CERS.
Register for Introduction to CERS for Test Coordinators and Administrators, October 8, 2024, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. This session is designed for staff who manage user roles in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) or manage student groups in CERS.
Register for the Introduction to CERS for Teachers, October 8, 2024, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. This session is designed for teachers who have students rostered in CERS, and other LEA staff who are interested in using the system.
On-demand CERS Training
The 2024–25 Introduction to CERS training is now available as a series of on-demand microlearning videos which:
- offer the same training content as the live Introduction to CERS training presented in smaller video segments, giving educators the ability to learn at their own pace;
- allow educators the flexibility to watch the entire training all the way through, or to view specific video topics of interest without having to watch the entire video playlist; and
- can be accessed at any time, ensuring the ability to integrate professional development into any routine.
