Subject: English Language Proficiency Assessments for California End-of-Year Processing
Dear Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representatives,
The California Department of Education's (CDE) California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) Operations Office along with the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) Office have collaborated to provide ETS time to conduct ELPAC's End-of-Year (EOY) Processing.
As a reminder, CALPADS sends student data to the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) every night including weekends. Since this process will not stop and in order for ETS to have the cleanest data possible, we ask that LEAs do not update any student records in CALPADS from Friday, May 31, 2024, 10 p.m. to Saturday, June 1, 2024, 7 a.m. to allow for ETS to process all ELPAC data. This includes making changes to Student Enrollment (SENR), Student Information (SINF), Student English Language Acquisition Status (SELA), Student Programs (SPRG), Student with Disabilities Status (SWDS), and Special Education Plans (PLAN) records.
Please note the following:
- This communication is about the ELPAC EOY processing done by ETS using data from TOMS and has nothing to do with CALPADS EOY submission.
- The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is not part of this process because the CAASPP window continues until the end of June.
If you have any questions related to testing, please reach out to your testing coordinator. For CALPADS related questions, please send them to calpads-support@cde.ca.gov.
Thank you,
CALPADS Operations Office
