Register Now! 2026–27 CERS Essentials Virtual Training Series
Email Update, May 27, 2026
Dear California Educators:
Registration is now open for the 2026–27 California Educator Reporting System (CERS) Essentials Training Series, a free of cost training available for all educators. These one-hour, topic-focused, and live virtual sessions are facilitated by CERS experts from California local educational agencies. The sessions are designed to equip staff with the skills and confidence to use CERS effectively.
Why you’ll love it:
- Short, topic-focused sessions—only attend sessions most relevant to you
- Updated content that reflects current CERS features
- Practical tips to use right away with student data
All sessions are presented on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:25 p.m. The series includes the following eight sessions:
- Session 1: Getting to Know the System, August 19, 2026
- Session 2: Managing Student Groups as an Administrator, August 26, 2026
- Session 3: Exploring the Features of Interim Assessment Data, October 7, 2026
- Session 4: Creating Customized Reports as an Administrator, October 21, 2026
- Session 5: Making Custom Student Groups That Work for You, November 18, 2026
- Session 6: Exploring Writing Extended Response Scores and Related Resources, March 10, 2027
- Session 7: Accessing Summative Assessment Results for the ELPAC, Summative Alternate ELPAC, and CSA, May 12, 2027
- Session 8: Accessing Summative Assessment Results for ELA, Math, Science, and the CAAs, May 19, 2027
Teachers and administrators are encouraged to attend together as a team to support meaningful collaboration and strong site-level data discussions. However, staff are welcome to attend individually.
Note: Access to the live CERS system is not required to participate. All demonstrations will take place in the CERS Sandbox training tool, which uses fictitious students and data.
Register for the 2026–27 CERS Essentials Training Series.
Sincerely,
California Outreach Team
