New Opportunities in Assessment Development

Dear California Educator:
Here is your chance to be involved in, and influence, the development of California assessment programs. We need educators like you to provide vital input on test composition, accessibility, and implementation. New opportunities are now available for the 2025–26 school year on the Educator Opportunities Portal for the following assessment programs:
- California Science Test (CAST)
- California Alternate Assessments for English language arts/literacy, mathematics, and science
- California Spanish Assessment (CSA)
- English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)
- Alternate ELPAC
Meeting Details
You will have the opportunity to learn more about these assessment programs and be an integral part of assessment development by reviewing test questions and scoring data.
- Meetings are held remotely via Zoom.
- Meeting lengths typically vary from 8–24 hours and may span over multiple days.
- Some meetings include independent review work.
- Compensation
- Local educational agencies will be reimbursed for the cost of substitute teachers, or
- Educators will be offered a stipend if the meeting falls during noncontract hours (for example, summer months or after-school hours).

Application Process
Applicants who already have an Educator Opportunities Portal account should complete the following tasks:
- Navigate directly to the Educator Opportunities Portal.
- Update profile information if necessary.
- Answer any new required questions.
Educators who do not have an Educator Opportunities Portal account may request an account using the Educator Opportunities Portal Account Creation Form.
