CAASPP: The CSA Needs Your LEA Again for 2023–24
CAASPP email update, March 18, 2024
Dear LEA CAASPP Coordinator:
As part of ETS' commitment to continuous improvement, we are currently engaged in field-testing new speaking and writing constructed-response items in the California Spanish Assessment (CSA). These improvements are aimed at ensuring a more robust assessment for operational use in future administrations.
Our records indicate that your LEA administered the CSA to students during the previous school year (2022–23). The active involvement of LEAs in this year's CSA is pivotal to the overall success and validity of the assessment; student participation is essential to conduct item analysis on all field test items prior to their use in future student score reporting. We strongly encourage you to both register students in your LEA to participate and assess them during this year's CSA administration.
Prompt action regarding participation in the CSA for the 2023–24 academic year is requested. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and plays a crucial role in contributing to both the success of the CSA and the ongoing improvement of summative assessments in California. We look forward to your positive response.
