Reminder: CAA for Science Test Administration

Dear LEA CAASPP Coordinator:

The testing window for the California Alternate Assessment (CAA) for Science opened on September 16, 2025. The three separate embedded performance tasks (PTs) can be administered in any order throughout the year until the last day of instruction. Test examiners should administer the embedded PT immediately after instruction on the related content.

If a test examiner has not started administering any of the embedded PTs, they should download a CAA for Science Administration Planning Guide and use the “Assessed Standards” section to determine when the related instructional content will be taught so that testing can be scheduled immediately after. The “Testing Planner” section can be used to note the date the instructional content will be taught and the testing date.
