ELPAC: 2023–24 Summative ELPAC Administration and Scoring Training, Certification Follow Up
Email Update, January 25, 2024
Dear LEA ELPAC Coordinator:
ELPAC regulations require annual training for the Summative ELPAC. Our records show that your LEA, [INSERT LEA NAME], has not completed the 2023–24 Summative ELPAC LEA Certification course located on the Moodle Training Site (Moodle). Every LEA must complete the certification course or provide proof of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), before the testing window begins on February 1, 2024. The due date for the LEA ELPAC coordinator or a designee to be certified was December 8, 2023.
A certificate of completion will be produced for the LEA Certification course.
As a reminder, the LEA ELPAC coordinator, or designee, is responsible for overseeing test examiners' calibration progress and completion. Test examiners need to be calibrated to administer and score Speaking. Calibration quizzes are located in the Examiner's Resource course in Moodle.
If the LEA does not have any English learner students, it can enter into a MOU with a neighboring LEA that has agreed to administer the Summative ELPAC in the event the first LEA has a newly enrolled student who requires Summative ELPAC testing. The LEA entering into a MOU should send an email to ELPAC@scoe.net to confirm both the MOU and that the neighboring LEA has completed Summative ELPAC training. If your LEA is providing Summative ELPAC training and administration for multiple LEAs, send an email to ELPAC@scoe.net so the LEAs can be linked for training coverage.
Please note that if the annual training certification is not completed or if the LEA has not provided evidence of a MOU, an email will be sent to the LEA's Superintendent.
