ETS and the California Department of Education are working with Student Information System (SIS) vendors and the Special Education Information System (SEIS) vendor on a test settings automation process. This solution will allow test settings to be sent directly from the LEA's SIS or SEIS to the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) automatically, thereby eliminating the need for the LEA to manually upload or update TOMS with this information. |
| 2023-24 Administration Year |
The Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS) will be enhanced for the 2023-24 test administration year. Updates include improved navigation and communication features. The enhanced THSS will be used to enter scores for the Initial ELPAC, Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments for English language arts/literacy and mathematics, and the interim assessments for the California Science Test and ELPAC (once they are available in October 2023). The enhanced THSS is now available for the Initial ELPAC. Beginning on August 1, 2023, the THSS will replace the Interim Assessment Hand Scoring System and will be used to enter scores for the Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments for English language arts/literacy and mathematics. |

Currently, the CAASPP Create and Edit Test Admin Calendar function is not working as intended. When selecting the start and end dates for the CAASPP administration within the Instructional Calendar widget, the selected dates do not reflect in the selected Instructional Calendar start and end date boxes. This is only a display issue, and the dates are being recorded properly. In Progress

To assist all LEA staff—including coordinators, administrators, and teachers—in preparing to access 2022-23 assessment results in the California Educator Reporting System (CERS), the CDE will offer three training modules. Each module will be presented by LEA staff who use CERS and will include live demonstrations about how to access specific summative assessment results, view and interpret individual score reports, and understand data features (e.g., Lexile and Quantile measures) that are specific to different assessments. There will be time to explore the system features and a question-and-answer period.
